Trunk or Treat!

The kids got to wear their costumes today for some candy getting' at the base today. Houston had a good time. Lorelei I don't think was very impressed. She was in a bad mood to begin with. She had just fallen asleep on the living room floor when it was time to get dressed. She was not pleased with me. Paisley got in on the action, even if she did sleep through the whole thing. I thought her costume was pretty cute. For those who aren't aware, we did a Veggie Tales theme. Larry the Cucumber, Bob the Tomato, and Junior Asparagus. Jennifer sent us some dark green Rit Dye for Paisley's costume. It dyed it way too dark (it almost looked black) so Grandma and I thought that maybe with some bleach we could lighten it. All that did was turn it gray. Good thing I had another set to dye. I went to Wal Mart hoping that I could find some lighter green Rit Dye (couldn't find any) but after an exhausted search in the craft section I did find some Lime Green Tye-Dye dye. That ended up working pretty well. So if anyone needs some dark green Rit Dye, let me know and I will send it to you.

Home Sweet Home

Paisley is finally home from the hospital! She was discharged Sunday morning and we got her home just after lunch time. Right now she is weighing in at 6 pounds 11 oz. Her birth weight was 7 1/2 pounds. Her pediatrician wants to do one weight check in a few days since she got a late start in nursing. (she was 6 days old the first time she nursed and 8 days old the second time I got to nurse her.) She is doing well at home. The kids seem to like her...for now. Lorelei really only gets jelous when mom is holding her. As soon as Paisley gets passed on to someone else she is right there to crawl into mommy's lap. The cats ignore her, but Shiloh was very interested in her.

Brian is happy that she's home. He called us last night. (first time I've talked to him since Paisley's been home) I was in the middle of changing her diaper so he got to he got to hear her scream and cry. He's doing pretty good. His cold (or the Iraqi Bug) is finally getting better. He's been sick with it for about a month. So far we are still on for him getting home around Christmas.

The kids are having a ball playing with all of the relatives. Opa, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. Great-Grandma was watching the kids this morning and Houston didn't like what she had to tell him so he packed his suitcase and said he was going to the airport to be with Opa. And would she please drive him.

My mom is leaving for Alaska tomorrow. Her trip her went by too fast!! Hopefully we'll be able to get her and dad down here again soon.

She's Off the Vent!!

This morning Paisley was taken off the vent. That means just a few more days until she comes home. She has to prove that she can tolerate breathing room air with out supplimental oxygen and she has to prove that she can eat. I'm not sure when the hospital will want me, but they have told me that I'll spend the night one night to nurse her. As soon as the NG Tube comes out then we'll start teaching her how to nurse. YEA!!!

Baby Girl Crow

October 12th was a big day for us. Paisley Jean Crow made her appearance into the world at 8:47 am. Weighing in at 7 pounds 8 oz. I got to hold for about 20 mintues before she was taken into the nursery. She was put under an oxygen hood. She has an air bubble outside of her lungs making it hard for them to expand. They were hoping the oxygen would help. By the next morning though her chest x-ray showed the bubble hadn't gotten better and that her lungs were wet from the amniotic fluid she inhaled when she was born. She was transfered to another hospital Saturday morning and is currently in the NICU on a resperator. As of this morning she is doing better. Not good enough to be extabated but her breathing is slowing down and they are drawing a lot of fluid out of her lungs. Hopefully she will be on the vent for only a couple of more days. Please keep her in your prayers for a quick recovery so she can come home.
